Research Overview

Lyme disease is an emerging public health threat in Canada. Due to complexities of diagnosis, treatment and familiarity with Lyme, many people lack timely care, and some go on to develop chronic sequelae. Chronic Lyme is considered an Infection Associated Chronic Condition (IACC) and patients’ experiences share similarities with those living with Long COVID, with important differences. Our project will develop an educational toolkit for clinical learners (e.g., rehabilitation professions, nursing, medicine) to accompany a research-based film we recently completed focused on living with Lyme. We will also evaluate the film’s impact on a range of
audiences (in-person and on-line).
